Pokemon

When i was a kid, I used to watch the Pokemon cartoon (sorry, anime) before i left for school. I watched it for a long time, I saw most episodes of it’s early days. In fact I think I saw every episode up until Charizard Chills, and just a few after that. It was only the cartoon I was interested in. I knew there was a card game but at the time that sounded too complex, and I wasn’t interested in it. I didn’t even know about the Gameboy games for a while.

Eventually I lost interest in Pokemon and stopped watching it for a long time. But recently, since discovering it on Netflix, I’ve got back into it. It also spurred me to start playing the games. Unfortunately I never had any Gameboy consoles until recently, when Tracey gave me a Gameboy Advance SP. But I still didn’t have any Pokemon games for it. So i got my hands on some emulators and started playing games on them.

I have an emulator on my Galaxy Note (and laptop), and I’ve been playing Pokemon FireRed. Since I mostly watched the early series of Pokemon, involving the original 151, I went for the games based on the originals, and FireRed is the enhanced remake of Pokemon Red, which had the first generation 151. Although I do wanna work on the second generation, which had 100 more pokemon, and more moves and items. and had more features in the games.

So far in FireRed I’ve put in about 50 hours of gameplay and caught 60 and seen 97 pokemon. I dunno whether that’s good or not. I just get some varied pokemon, work on leveling them up, and let them evolve naturally if I can, although there are some exceptions. Some can only evolve with special items or through trading, which is why i’m trying to get Tracey to play. If i get some good pokemon, i’ll start levelling them up instead by going to my hometown and start fighting some pokemon.

Anyways, that’s all for now. Toodles

A Bit About Me

Ok, so for those of you that haven’t read my profile, here are a few things about me.

I… am Michael. Shocking right? I’m 26, I live in Birmingham, England. i do have the accent. I have a girlfriend. Her name is Tracey, she’s 31, from Ireland. I’ll tell you more about her in another post.

I currently work part time in a call centre in Birmingham city centre. It pays decent, but i want to work somewhere i actually enjoy. It’s not a bad place, but the work is quite repetitive.

I’m a geek. I like lots of computer and technology related things. You know i’m a geek when i’m the person people go to when they have problems with their computer. I’m also a linux user. I’m against Apple and Microsoft and i only use them when i have to. Like at work. I prefer to use free, open source software as opposed to buying stuff. No point if you can get it for free, right?

I’m also a gamer. Not just modern games. But old ones. I have some pretty old games consoles, the oldest is an Amiga 500. I also have an Amiga 1200, a Super Nintendo, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast. And dome more modern ones like PS3, PSP… that’s all 😀

I also have 2 Android phones. a HTC Hero and a Google Nexus S. I also have an Android tablet, An Asus Transformer. With the dock. It’s awesome. They all are. Except the Hero.

anyway that’s enough geekiness from me. Have any questions, ask. Follow my blog. All that shiznit. I don’t remember if i told you my youtube account. I think so, but just in case i didn’t it’s http://www.youtube.com/user/micol19 and my Facebook is https://www.facebook.com/micol25.

That’s enough blabbering from me, see ya next time.
