Comedy and Fun

So for the past few hours I’ve been on a bit of a comedy buzz. No reason, i just like it. It’s obviously funny. So far I’ve watched some clips of Top Gear. Always funny. Them idiots, especially Clarkson. What else? I’ve seen the roasting of David Hasselhoff. That was funny. Just celebrities abusing each other basically. There’s a William Shatner one i wanna watch. Now I’m watching Jim Carrey live in 1991. Hilarious. And i don’t mean that sarcastically. It really is. With his rubber face. Oh man, classic. Now time for some Rowan Atkinson

Also, Tracey had been here for a couple of weeks up until a few days ago. We had an amazing time. It was a lot of fun. Lots of games, lots of films, mainly the Karate Kid films, lots of sex. Bit of shopping. Lots of pizza. I’m definitely going to move in with her.  I just need to arrange an international mover. I wanna get out of here as soon as possible and move in with my perfect partner.

Today and yesterday I went on a short course to help with making a professional looking CV. (That’s a resume to you Americans). It was pretty interesting. But it could have been made a lot shorter (the course, not my CV. That needs to be longer). It was really stretched out. He could have just just gave us a booklet and that’s it. But he had to make us work in groups didn’t he. I hate that. But it did have a bit of useful information. There was good funny people there that made it better. I’m still unemployed by the way

My phone fell off the bed the other day and i pulled it up by the USB cable because it was charging off my laptop and my laptop was close. I think pulling it up by the cable may have damaged the phone or the cable. Why does this always happen to me? The next phone I get won’t be charged by micro USB. It’s just too easy to damage. I want some larger, stronger proprietary connection, like what the Galaxy Note 2 and Asus Transformer has. I’m getting very annoyed at the reliability of the Galaxy Note.

Oh, one more quick thing. Google sent me something saying if i spend £25 within a month on advertising, they’d give me another £75. So I spent £25 in about a week. And they gave me the £75. So now I’m getting quite a bit more views on my blog and YouTube. Oh my God, I’ve just realised I have over 9000 views, i can finally say “IT’S OVER 9000!!!!”, and it’d be true. I don’t like advertising. But I’m glad I’m paying a bit to have adverts show my stuff. It’s earned me a good few views. Thanks Google. Always been a big fan. Employ me. Woah, who said that?

Anyway that’s all for now. I’m getting in bed before i get attacked by moths. Toodles

Jobcentre, Star Trek, Moving, and Phones

Hello my children.

This is just a little update to what’s happened. So I’m still unemployed. I went to the jobcentre the other day and signed up for jobseekers allowance. It all seemed to go well. Except they forgot to give me my passport back and i had to go back for it. Luckily i wasn’t too far away. I have to go again on the 8th May. Woo

I got my redundancy pay and lieu of notice pay. It came to just over £2000. Not including my work pay. After deductions (tax and National Insurance), it totalled £2,504.48p. Not bad but not quite as much as I’d hoped.

Anyways, one of the first things i did with it, except pay rent and stuff, was buy a Star Trek Communicator badge off eBay  Actually 2. With the rank pips that go on the collar. That must be the geekiest thing I’ve ever bought. This is it:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390528832938?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

It’s beautiful. I can be Captain Picard and Tracey can be Captain Janeway. Good price as well considering how shiny they are. Ooh maybe i should buy a couple of phasers and give one to Tracey and we can have a phaser battle. Oh god, what am i saying? I’m 28.

I think the fact I’ve been playing a lot of Star Trek Online and watching a lot of Star Trek has got me in the mood for it. I never really got into Deep Space 9 before but it’s actually pretty good. Next Generation was always my favourite though.

Hmm what else has happened? Well I’ve decided I’m going to move to Ireland. Probably this year, within the next few months. I should start looking for jobs in Ireland as well. That reminds me, i need to do some research into international movers. It’s not like I’m moving my whole house, just a few things from my room. And it wouldn’t need to be quick, I’m not in a rush to get my stuff.

I’ve also come to the conclusion that my Galaxy Note is too big. I think I’d be better suited to something about 4 inches. I want something fairly compact and powerful, like a Galaxy S4, but smaller. That’s 5 inches as well. The S4 mini is supposed to be 4.3, maybe that’d be better but it’s “only” quad core instead of octa core, like the big S4. But quad core should be enough. I’ll do some research anyway. But i definitely want one about 4 inches.

I think that’s all for now. I’ll make another post when i have something else to say. So bye for now.

Still Unemployed

Yeah, it’s been about 2 months since i did my last blog. I still don’t have a new job and i lose this job in less than 2 weeks. And yes, i have been looking. I’ve applied to several places. Especially technology related places, like CarphoneWarehouse and Comet and stuff like that. So far no-one has accepted me. One company wanted me to go to an interview, but after a bit of research i discovered it’s a scam company. Don’t ever work for Skyline Marketing Ltd.

On the 26th April, i do get some redundancy and lieu of notice pay. This should come to about £2000 (on top of my £600 or so normal pay), but i want to save as much of it as i can. Looks like i’ll have to start going to the crappy jobcentre. From what one of my Facebook friends say though, they’re a load of crap. Which i believe. Let’s face it, they are owned by the government. And we all know what governments are like.

I’m typing this blog up at work. I probably shouldn’t be. If Omar knew (the IT man), he wouldn’t be happy. I don’t even know if he still works here though. We’re allowed to look for jobs though, obviously. Although some sites are blocked, including a few i’ve needed, like when i tried to look for jobs at Codemasters or Aston University. I understand gaming being blocked but education is also blocked. Why would they block education? “We don’t want you learning things, do we”. Stupid.

On another subject, the computer i’ve been building has a slight problem. I’ve installed that Windows on too many computers, and now they’ve blocked me from using that CD key thing. Now i need a new one, or i’ll keep getting an error message, it’ll say the Windows version number in the bottom right corner, and it’ll blank the background. The error more than anything is annoying, but i suppose i’ll have to tolerate it. If anyone has a spare Windows 7 Home Premium CD key, feel free to let me know

First world problems, eh? Other than that, it runs good except the mid range graphics card and the slow main hard drive. But i do want a better graphics card. It can’t even run Star Trek Online at maximum graphics settings properly. It’s got some nice effects but nothing that should be too hard on the graphics card. Ah well, i’ll get a better one soon enough.

That’s all for today. Just wanted top update you all on the situation. If you care. Probably not. I’m surprised i get as many views as i do. I’m at exactly 7400 views right now. Not bad. Anyway, toodle pips old chap

Redundancy

Hello my oddball  friends.

Well, we could all see it coming. It’s been made official. There was a meeting last week  officially announcing that we are closing down and everyone i work with is being made redundant. From 20th April, i will be unemployed. Unless i can find another job of course.

Now we all have to go looking for jobs. I’ve been looking and i’ve applied to a few places, especially today. I’ll let you now what happens of course. If anyone out there who reads this blog wants to employ me, and is in the north of Birmingham, UK, there are plenty of ways to contact me, there’s a link to my Google Sites website on the title page of my blog. I’m quite good with computers and i love gadgets and technology.

One decision I made early on in life is that I don’t want to work in a supermarket. And so far I haven’t. I’ve only had the one job and it’s quite sad that I’m losing it. It makes you appreciate the job you do have. It was good pay for not very much work. Especially nowadays since we’ve been getting a lot less calls. At times, I’m sitting there for 15 minutes between calls. A lot of time is spent just talking to each other, or the past couple of days, looking for jobs.

It even managed to get a news article in a local newspaper. The article is here.

Ah well, such is life I suppose. I’ll sort something out. At least it gave me the push to start the job search I’ve been wanting to do for ages anyway.

Oh, one more thing. Recently I’ve been waking up fairly early. Around 8 or 9ish. That’s early for me anyway. That’s always good. Ok that’s all for now. Toodle Maybe my body clock is actually sorting itself out.

Deja Vu

So it’s that time of the rota again where I have to do early shifts. There was a point where I asked one of my supervisors to change as many as my shifts to lates, which she did for a few months, but then she got injured and was unable to do them for a while.
So now I have to be up at 5.30 for work most days this week. And we all know how hard it is for me to get to sleep at night. I worry about things. Money, Tracey having fibromyalgia and not getting enough sleep and being in pain, ironically knowing I have to be up early keeps me awake. Stupid body. I had a splitting headache last night as well so I had to pop a couple of pills, which slowly worked. And things aren’t helped by my dad’s constantly beeping hearing aid. By constant I mean constant. Not beep beep beep. I mean beeeeeeeeeeeeeep. All night.
So now it’s 7.20am at the time of writing. And even though I only got about 4 hours or so of sleep, I’m not feeling as tired as you might think. I’m actually quite awake. And no, I haven’t had any caffeinated drinks. Except Dr pepper, but I was feeling awake before I started drinking that.
On another note, I’ve more or less finished building my computer. I’ve got it working.  I just want to put more RAM in it. But I’ve got windows installed on it, I’ve got the blu-ray drive working, a DVD rewriter, the old IDE hard drive and two solid state drives. There’s a CD rewriter that doesn’t work because there’s no more IDE connectors, but I can live with that. But other than that everything works. I just want a DVI to VGA cable to connect my small monitor for when I’m using the PS3. And oh yeah, my windows product key has stopped working so I only have a couple of days to activate it before… Something happens
Anyway, back to the grind. Adios amigos

Snow

Hello again butt munchers.

Yes, I’m going to talk about snow. Anyone in the UK knows it’s been snowing. Probably people outside as well.

The Snow on my Road in Great Barr

Normally, snow wouldn’t be a problem for me. I like snow. I think it’s very soft and pretty. But the problem is my shoes. Monday to Thursday I need to wear formal shoes to work. Obviously they have very little grip in the snow.

I’ve been thinking about buying them spike things you put on your shoes for more grip, but I haven’t had any money and I don’t get paid until tomorrow.

Obviously the snow also causes problems at work. My job is to give out bus timetables. As you can probably imagine, people want to know if their buses are running. Because apparently they don’t want to phone the bus company directly. They prefer to phone a 10p/minute phone number to find out what they usually already know anyway.

The most annoying thing though is when they want us to predict whether buses will be running tomorrow. Because apparently we’re the met office and can predict the weather.

I actually started this blog a couple of days ago. At a really bad time, at work, when we was really busy. And I hardly get any done. Just like the first couple of lines. And I forgot about it until now. I am ash work now but it’s pretty quiet as usual.

Anyway I’m done here I think. Until next time chums

Get down with the sickness

Hello my little butt nuggets. I know it’s been about two months since I last did a post, but I haven’t had as lit to say really.

But these past few weeks I’ve been a bit ill. I’d been getting some strong headaches on my left temple, sometimes it even made my jaw ache (no blowjob jokes), a couple of times, the whole of the side of my face hurt.

I took a lot of painkillers to try to stop it, even took Nurofen plus once, which contains codeine.  I’ve also had a bit of diarrhoea and a cough. I still have the cough, but I have for a while

But it’s ok now, I only get headaches when I don’t get enough sleep. Which has been happening a bit more recently because my dad has been getting me up early to do various things before I go to work.

Once he even woke me up at 6.50 to tell me to be up at 8 to go to the hospital with him (he needed new hearing aids). Why he couldn’t just wake me up at 8 is anyone’s guess. I could have got an extra hour sleep.

Anyway, I think that’s all I wanna say. I thought I would post something since its been a while. Leave a comment, preferably not anonymously.

See y’all soon. Maybe

DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNNN

Language

Hello my little monkeys. I  don’t know what I’m actually going to blog about, I’m just winging it. I just thought it was time I did one, so hi.

Right now I’m at work, as usual it’s quiet. Since I don’t know what I’m blogging about, I haven’t put anything for a title. Obviously by the time you read this, there will be one. Ooh I know what to blog about. Let’s talk about English.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to the talk about the differences hetween “who” and “whom”. Mostly because even I don’t know the difference. What I want to talk about is when people say things like “u r” instead of “you are”. Or worse yet, “yhhuuu areee”. Them are just  a few examples.

There was a time when typing like that was an advantage. When you was limited to 160 characters when texting. But now people usually get a lot or even  unlimited texts, making typing like that obsolete. But it’s still common nowadays, even on chat sites and apps like WhatsApp or whatever, with no character limit. It makes people look retarded. People don’t see that. at least not the people that type like that. It doesn’t even help people type quicker usually. It usually takes me longer to work out how to shorten words than it would be to type them out properly.

Also, Black Country people (the Black Country is an area west of Birmingham), especially Wolverhampton people. They say things like “Where am ya?”. That just annoys me. There’s just no point.

Black Country Map

Anyway, I think that’s all i wanna talk about. Like I said, it was a spur of the moment thing, I just had an urge to do a blog, and I didn’t know what about. So job done. Unil next time, chums!

It’s not Christmas

It’s that time of year again. Wait, no it isn’t. It’s October. But already, people are talking about it. I’ve seen some of my Facebook friends liking Christmas related pictures. One or two talking about Christmas shopping. Christmas adverts. Oh god, this is when the freaky dolls start appearing on telly. Baby born, baby born. I hope that tune is stuck in your head.

Dudes, at least wait until Halloween has finished before going on about it. Better yet, wait until after bonfire night. I don’t think people outside the UK would know much about bonfire night. It’s on 5th of November. It celebrates when someone tried to blow up the houses of parliament, but got caught. The only honest person to go in to the houses of parliament.

Anyways, the point is, it’s not freaking Christmas yet. It’s 2 months away. Stop going on about it. Stop liking Christmas crap. You’re probably not even Christian, why are you celebrating a Christian holiday? You don’t celebrate eid because you’re not a Muslim.

Anyway, that’s all I wanted to say. Have fun

My Girlfriend’s Fibromyalgia

Hello friends. There’s something serious I’d like to talk to you about today. Most of you read my blogs because you’re a geek, because you have an interest in technology, gadgets, games or Linux, geeky things like that. But today i might attract a slightly different type of person.

As you may know, my girlfriend (her blog can be found here) has something called Fibromyalgia. In short, it’s a disorder that mostly causes pain throughout most of the body, and it can also cause sleep problems, stiff joints, numbness and tingling as well as some others. But they are mostly what Tracey gets. Here is a picture of the symptoms:

An illustration of Fibromyalgia symptoms

The problem is that, because there no external symptoms, i.e. symptoms that can be seen, people tend to think that it’s all in the head. It isn’t. It’s there. I know i can’t imagine what it feels like because it hasn’t happened to me. There is also no known cure for it yet.

And that means i can’t do anything about it. Medicines don’t do very much, they get rid of the pain a bit, but it obviously doesn’t cure it. And I am totally helpless. Not just because she’s in Dublin and I’m in Birmingham. Even if I’m there with her, there’s nothing i can do. I just have to sit there, knowing she’s in pain. At best I can cuddle her and do things for her. But that isn’t enough. I don’t want her to be going through this pain. But we have no choice. There’s nothing anyone can do except try to relieve the pain when it appears.

If you want to read more about it, the Wikipedia page is here.

On another note, I have recently came back from seeing Tracey in Ireland. As usual, it was amazing and we had loads of sex. We always have an amazing time. I love spending time with her. I love just cuddling with her. I try and touch her, hold her hand as much as i can. I love every moment with her.

And oh yeah, my Galaxy Note is a bit broken. It doesn’t charge properly anymore. So i’m going to leave for work early and take it back to the 3 shop. I miss my Note. I’ve been using my Nexus S.

Anyway I have to get ready for work. Toodle pip
